Sunset & Tide Times

"I once decided not to date a guy because he wasn't excited to meet my dog. I mean, this was like not wanting to meet my mother." ~ Bonnie Schacter, Founder of the Single Pet Owner's Society Singles Group. For more on this topic, please visit the "Romance on the Road" section, page 45 of the Dog Travel Guide which is linked on the Dog Travel page.

These are sea-level times, but as our Park is in a valley below the Almonte Ridge, the effective sunset is earlier.  There is good light for about 25 minutes after these times.

For those who are REALLY interested in daily sunrise/set as well as moonrise/set, click on the month links below which will open monthly calendars showing each day's events.  The first "twi" is the start of the morning twilight, then sunrise, sunset and finally, the second "twi" which is the end of civil twilight and when it will be - DARKMost people will wish to leave the Park by sunset. By MV ordinance, the Park is officially closed 30 minutes after sunset.  After the end of evening twilight, you may wish to have a light of some kind with you and, possibly, lights attached to your dog.

"This past Thanksgiving, my father was at the farm, and I had all 11 dogs in the house with a father who never allowed dogs in the house. And he got up to leave the table and came back and Solomon was in his chair. And he says, 'This dog is in my chair.' And I said, 'It's the other way around, you're sitting in his chair." ~ Oprah Winfrey, on her American spaniel, who shares the house with ten other dogs, including six golden retrievers

The following tide link is the best we have found so far.  Low tides at the dog park will be slightly  later than at Sausalito which are shown on this chart.  Because winter tides are more extreme and because Richardson Bay is shallow, our park experiences very high and very low tides; so low that the adjacent bay is down to mud twice a day.  Beginning in May, the tidal range is gradually reduced and, by summer, the muddy bottom is not seen.
