Spring is here !

It sure is !

Most Park users park (or try to park) their cars in the SASM lot and head to the Park in haste.  Take a moment to see the signs of spring alongside your car.

This orange beauty is only a few feet from most cars.

Walking from the lot to the Park, notice that the Poplars are sporting leaves now and have lost their winter gloom.  Can you spot the Park's only Pride Of Madeira?

Two plants dominate the scene now; Ceonothus (very drought tolerant, aka California lilac) and Forsythia.  This is their time and they greet you at the north entrance to the Dog Park.  Forsythia are so plentiful and widespread in the region that it seems they were scattered from the air.  Their wonderful yellow blossoms catch your eye wherever you look.  Often, they intertwine with other plants.  The Ceonothuses are at their peak now, but soon will fade.  Enjoy them while you can.  Click on the last one to Spring ahead.
